Their structure is characterized by the crystal silicaluminate composed of 10-element pores. Its basic structural unit is composed of eight five-membered rings, no cage cavity, only channels. ZSM-5 has two sets of intersecting channels, one straight through and the other perpendicular to each other. The channel is elliptical and its window diameter is 0.55-0.60nm. Due to the similar reaction space and the shape of the inlet and outlet, this kind of molecular sieve has a shape selection effect on the reactants and products, coupled with the homogeneity of its structure and hydrothermal stability, making it a good selective catalyst raw material.
