Daminozide is a succinic acid plant growth regulator, which can delay the aging of leaf lettuce, inhibit the rot and discoloration of mushroom, but has little effect on green cauliflower and stone diorrhoea.
1. Physical and chemical properties
It is a succinic acid compound. Pure product is white crystal, slightly smelly. The product is 95%~98% light gray powder, or 85% wettable powder. The solubility is 10 g /100 g water (25℃), and the melting point is 157℃~164℃. Strong stability, the powder can be stored at room temperature for more than 4 years, and it needs to be used on the same day after being mixed into liquid. Daminozide will affect the efficacy of alkali, and should not be mixed with other agents (copper preparations, oil agents) or pesticides.
2.Toxicity
No adverse reactions have been found in rabbits, dogs and cats.
The acute oral LD50 of rats was 8400 mg/kg body weight, and the acute skin test LD50 of rabbits was > 5000 mg/kg body weight.
3.Action mechanism
Daminozide is a plant growth retarder, which has bactericidal effect and can be used as stunting agent, fruit setting agent, rooting agent and fresh-keeping agent. After treating the plant, it can be absorbed, transported and distributed to various parts of the plant. The initial effect of Daminozide is to inhibit auxin synthesis, auxin transport and gibberellin biosynthesis in plants. It is mainly manifested in:
① Delay vegetative growth of plants, make the leaves dark green, small and thick, compact and sturdy plants, developed roots, increase the dry weight of roots and reduce the proportion of crown roots, which is conducive to controlling the growth of seedlings or flower bud differentiation.
② Increasing chlorophyll content of crops, delaying chloroplast senescence, slowing down growth rate, and high photosynthetic net assimilation rate are conducive to increasing dry matter accumulation, improving fruit quality, hardness and fruit setting rate, and promoting fruit maturity concentration.
③ It can increase the sugar content in plant cells, reduce energy consumption, reduce transpiration, etc., which may be related to the improvement of plant resistance to adverse environment, which is conducive to reducing physiological diseases.
④ Promote the biosynthesis of anthocyanins, which is conducive to improving the color of fruits and preventing the decolorization of fruits during storage. Daminozide is quickly decomposed by microorganisms in soil.
